I have always loved cooked mushrooms yet ate raw mushrooms very rarely. Towards the beginning of my raw journey I discovered marinated mushrooms and couldn’t believe how incredible they tasted and that they reminded me of the cooked (fried) mushrooms that I loved.

Knowing how to marinate mushrooms means you now have a variety of flavours to add to any simple salad you are preparing. Change the garlic to some chilli. Add chopped herbs. What would the dish taste like if your added sun dried tomatoes?

Marinated Mushrooms

An easy accomplishment to add extra flavour to your salads

  • 10 button mushrooms finely sliced
  • 1 Tbsp tamari
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder


Prior Preparation

  • Nil


  • In a bowl add sliced mushrooms, tamari, olive oil and garlic powder and mix together.
  • Set aside to marinate for 10 - 15mins. The longer the mushrooms marinate the softer they will be.


Store and Serve:
Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Add chopped herbs to add variety to the dish
